Welcome to L.S.O.A

The L.S.O.A website is a tool that identifies areas of low income in England, Scotland and Wales using the Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD).

Its purpose is to support the beneficiaries by geographically identifying, locating and creating reports of deprived Lower Super Output Areas (and Rural) on a map and showing a list of postcode coverage and adjoining areas of a selected super output area.

Who are the beneficiaries?

  • Local Authorities
  • Utility Companies
  • Police
  • Insulation Companies
  • Schools
  • Insurance Companies
  • Trusts
  • Real Estate
  • Charities
  • Home Buyers & Owners
  • Politicians
  • Individuals

How it Works

Has this tool been updated to cover the 25% lowest income areas under CSCO?

Our ECO Tool is updated to reflect the extension of the CSCO element of ECO from 15% to 25% New Low Income Areas. However, we have kept the old (15% Low Income) System for historical data checking for those who are interested in it while the new 25% Low Income Areas System has become the default. Both systems are running from this (same) website for easy comparison and use.
